It’s no secret that I loved photographing the Hennings family. This session was especially fun because it was early December and there was an abundance of powdered snow. In the questionnaire I send to my clients to get to know them better, they had told me that they’d like to start out their photo session in their home, where it was festively decorated for the holidays, and to finish up our time together at Comstock Park on the south hill in Spokane, having some wintery fun.
Thomas is turning 4 and his mom wanted to document this stage of their lives to remember his fun, spunky, curious personality that he has! When I first arrived, he was a little shy so I prompted the family to do a lot of cuddly and hugging poses, within minutes, Thomas warmed up to me and wanted to share his gingerbread house with me!
As a Spokane family photographer, it’s important to me that my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera–and it’s clear that these guys do. Whether it be at home or out in nature (where we went for sledding and snow ball fight), they had a great time creating memories while we worked together to get great shots of the whole family.
Family photos can be so much fun when you do them with people you love. They’re a great way to not only capture the memories, but also creating new ones. The photos produced are there for Thomas after he’s grown, and for his future family. That’s why it’s not only important to have the photos, but have them stored in a way that will last for generations.
We hope you enjoyed this little peek into our Spokane family photography session with the Hennings! I love activity based photoshoots that truly represent your family’s story, so if there’s anything in particular that you’d like us to focus on during your shoot, let me know. The best photo sessions are the ones that are more authentic to your family.
